Nepal is considered as one of the best destinations for peak climbing. Among them, Mera Peak stands out as this is the highest peak you can marvel. The stunning views of Himalayas it offers from the peak is simply magnificent that will be imprinted in your mind for a lifetime. Although considered as one of the demanding peak climbings, the thrill you get is more rewarding.

Mera peak offers some excellent views of the highest mountain in the world. It is best known for the exceptional view of five more than 8000 m high mountains like Mt. Everest, Lhotse, Cho Oyu, Makalu, Kanchenjunga. It takes you to the hidden valleys of Khumbu Region. The unspoiled and uninhabited Hinku Valley below Mera peak is admired by many travelers who went up to Mera Peak.

Mera Peak climbing does not require you to have some prior climbing experience. It is suited to both Novice and experienced who want to ascend a snow-covered peak and walk through the forests of alpine woods and lush valleys. However, it is required that you are in a perfect health condition with enough strength, stamina, endurance to complete the strenuous Journey for more than two weeks.

Just like many other trekking routes in Khumbu region, we fly towards Lukla but from Lukla rather than trekking towards Namche Bazaar, we head towards Hinku Valley. We pass Kothe, Thaknak, Khare to finally arrive at our destination. We follow the route through Thulikharka and Zatwa la pass towards Lukla. We then leave the Khumbu region and return towards Kathmandu.

Day 1
Kathmandu Arrival.

We greet and welcome you to Nepal at Tribhuvan International Airport. You will be transferred to the hotel and briefed about the trek. You can rest at the hotel or stroll in Thamel’s street observing the market.

Day 2
Trek preparation and sightseeing

You will visit four of the UNESCO world heritage-listed sites in Kathmandu. You will observe the historically and religiously important sites including Basantapur Durbar Square, Pashupatinath Temple, Swayambhunath stupa and Bouddhanath Stupa. In the evening we will prepare for our next day adventure towards the Khumbu region.

Day 3
Fly to Lukla and trek to Paiya (2730m) [40 min flight, 5-6 hours trek]

After breakfast, we head towards TIA for our domestic flight towards Lukla. You will witness the aerial views of lush green hills, snow-clad mountains, and huge glaciers. Upon arrival, we meet our porters and head towards Paiya via Chutok la pass.

Day 4
Paiya to Paggon(2846m) [5-6 hours]

We walk through slippery trail until we arrive Kari la pass. We cross the pass walk through bamboo and rhododendron forest to arrive at a beautiful village of Panggon. The residents of this valley are mainly traders and farmers. Today we see Dudhkoshi valley on our way.

Day 5
Panggon to Ningsow(2863m) [4-5 hours]

A five hours of hike will lead us to Ningsaw. We pass Panggom la pass, Pesang Kharka khola, Peeng khara danda, Nignsaw khola to arrive at our destination for overnight stay.

Day 6
Ningsow to Chhatra Khola (2800m) [7-8 hours]

We walk towards Ramailo danda, walks ups and downs trail, We then enter into a trail named after our first female Everest climber - Pasang Lmahu Sherpa. We walk through Pasang Lhamu trail. On our way we might also spot exotic Red Panda while walking through Makalu Barun National Park.

Day 7
Chhatra Khola to Kothe (3691m) [6-7 hours]

On this day we head towards kothe passing Tashig Ongma which has few teashops. We cross a bridge over sanukhola before arriving kothe.

Day 8
Kothe to Thaknak (4358m) [3-4 hours]

We trek on the ridge of Hinku khola. On our way we come across an old gumpa, Lungsungba Gompa. After some time spending some time blessed by god to make our journey successful we head towards Thaknak, a grazing area with some shops and lodges.

Day 9
Thakank to Khare(5045m) [2-3 hours]

We follow the route of moraine created by Dig Glacier to Dig Kharka. The trail today is mostly wet and steepy. We will walk gently without rushing to prevent possible AMS. We follow the route that takes us to Khare, From here we spot the mesmerising northern face of Mera Peak.

Day 10
Khare - Acclimatization Day and pre climbing training.

On this day our trek guide teaches you the basic skills needed while climbing. He will teach you how to use gears for example ice axe, harness, boots, crampons and rope. We use this day for acclimatization and take enough rest to prepare our body for tomorrow's big day.

Day 11
Khare to Mera High camp(5780m) [6-7 hours]

On this day we follow a rocky trail which can be a little bit dangerous due to snow. We cross Mera la pass and set up a camp for overnight stay.  You can witness the stunning panoramic view of Mt.Everest, Makalu, Cho Oyu, Lhotse and many more. 

Day 12
Mera High Camp to summit (6461m) and back to khare. [8-9 hours]

Today is a very special day as will embark our journey to the summit. We start early in the morning. We will use necessary gears and skills that we learned to use while training and finally marvel Mera Peak. When you reach the summit you will be blessed by the stunning views of Mt. Everest, Cho Oyu, Makalu, Nuptse, Lhotse and many more. After spending some splendid time on the summit we descend down towards the base camp. We take some rest, warm our body with hot soup or tea then finally descend to khare for overnight stay.

Day 13
Reserve day for contingency.

We may not need this extra day if the weather goes well. During bad weather it is really difficult to climb. What's more, it's really dangerous! We postpone the climbing day and wait for the next day when the weather goes favorable.

Day 14
Khare to Kothe(3600m) [4-5 hours]

We retrace back to kothe on the same route that we took previously. We pass through Thagnak to arrive at Kothe for overnight stay.

Day 15
Kothe to Thuli kharka(4300m) [5-6 hours]

We walk few up and down hill trails crossing rivers through bridges and arrive at Thuli kharka. Overnight stay at Thulikharka.

Day 16
Thuli Kharka to Lukla via Zatrwa la pass(4600m) [6-7 hours]

We cross Zatrwa la pass on this day. The trail ascends before crossing Zatrwa la pass and then it descends until we reach chutang. From chutang to we follow an easy trail that lead us to Lukla. While on our journey we admire Cho Oyu, Kongde peak, Kusum Khanguru, Nombre that surrounds this beautiful Lukla valley. We enjoy our last delicious dinner of Khumbu region at Lukla in the evening.

Day 17
Fly to Kathmandu

We take an early flight from Lukla to Kathmandu. After arrival at Kathmandu you can engage yourself in city life or do some souvenir shopping.

Day 18
Final Departure

Our representative will take you to the Airport for your departure. We bid farewell and this will end our adventurous journey towards Mera Peak. But this doesn’t end our relationship at all. You can remember us for many other trekking in different regions like Khumbu, Annapurna, Langtang region. We are here to make your adventure and amazing journey special and memorable.
