This is probably the most popular short hiking route close to Kathmandu. If you are in short of time and wish to explore the natural beauty of nearby hill station admiring breathtaking sunrise and sunset, explore dense forest this hiking trail is right for you. An hour of the drive will take us to Sundari Jal which is famous as a picnic spot or just for hanging out with your friends or family during weekends. This is the point where our hiking start. Having a serene atmosphere, water resource and tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the city, Sundarijal welcomes you to the adventure hike towards Chisapani and Nagarkot. Not only this hike offers the experience of the richness of flora and fauna in this region, the places like Nagarkot and Chisapani showcases stunning views of a larger part of himalayas. You will also visit Bhaktapur Durbar Square in your return journey which sheds light on the life of ancient kings and displays art of medieval era in stone, wood and metal forms. Also, the local Newari culture from the earlier times is still retained in the living of people residing in Bhaktapur.

We start our journey with sightseeing some of the most visited cultural and historical sites in Kathmandu. Our hiking start at Sundarijal, a gateway to some of the popular hiking and trekking destination around Kathmandu and in Langtang region. We spent our evening in chisapani then we head towards Nagarkot. We return back to Kathmandu from Nagarkot through Bhaktapur. 

Day 1
Arrival In Kathmandu.

Upon Arrival in Tribhuvan International Airport you will be welcomed and greeted by our representative. You will be then transferred to hotel for rest and relaxation.

Day 2
Sightseeing in Kathmandu and hike preparation.

After having breakfast, we head towards popular historical and cultural sites in Kathmandu. We will visit Kathmandu Durbar square - a series of temples, shrines and palaces, Swayambhunath - popularly known as the Monkey temple,  Boudhanath - one of the largest domes, Pashupatinath - a holy site for hindu believers. In the evening we collect necessary gears and things we need on our hike.

Day 3
Drive to Sundarijal [1 hour] and hike from Sundarijal to Chisapani [5-6 hour]

After having our breakfast we drive towards Sundarijal which is the starting point of our hike. Its a serene place, popular for hangout and picnic. We hike for 5 hours passing several small settlements and tea shops on our way to reach Chisapani . We hike through forest mostly uphill and since its popular among local travellers you can expect to know and walk along with other different groups as well. Upon reaching Chisapani You will witness the compelling sunset, and the sun rays glowing in a larger part of himalayan range. Overnight stay in a lodge in Chisapani.

Day 4
Hike to Nagarkot from Chisapani [7 hours]

Our fourth day hiking start after breakfast at Chisapani, then we head towards Nagarkot through few settlements. We stop by at Jhule or Chauki Bhanjyang for lunch. You will find today’s hike a bit strenuous but the trail offers a journey through dense forest so you can expect to see several different species of flora and fauna. A 7 hours of arduous walk through lush forest will end us up at popular hill station - Nagarkot. You will be able to catch stunning sunset view and the mesmerising beauty of himalayas with changing color of its snow-covered mountain.  You will stay in the luxurious hotel in Nagarkot.

Day 5
Nagarkot to Bhaktapur, Bhaktapur sightseeing and return to Kathmandu

After witnessing the spectacular sunrise from Nagarkot, from the view tower and having a wholesome breakfast we descend down towards Bhaktapur. At Bhaktapur we will visit Bhaktapur durbar square which houses a series of temples, shrines, statues that displays the craftsmanship of ancient medieval era. Today we visit 55-Window Palace, Taleju Bhawani, statue of King Bhupatindra Malla, Nyatapola Temple, Bhairavnath Temple, Dattatraya Temple and many more. Bhaktapur city has preserved its old cultural and traditional values by native newari people, and unique atmosphere not found in any other places. We return back to the hotel for overnight stay in Kathmandu.

Day 6
International Departure

We will drop you to Tribhuvan International Airport for you departure towards you home. We celebrate our successful hiking for 6 days with nature and culture around Kathmandu Valley. We bid farewell to each other thus completing this hike.
