Everest Base Camp from Lhasa tour is the most fascinating tour exploring the sacred and isolated city of Lhasa and drive through the diverse landscape to admire the mesmerizing up-close view of Mt. Everest. We will spend a few days sightseeing famous Potala palace, Norbulingka palace, Jokhang temple - one of the most famous and sacred places in the world which hold the deep spiritual vibe, popular Sera and Drepung monasteries. Then we will travel crossing many naturally beautiful sites towards the Base Camp of Everest. Upon arrival in Everest Base Camp you will see the heavenly beauty of Himalayas and up close view of the highest peak in the world.

Day 1
Arrival in Kathmandu

Upon Arrival in Kathmandu you will be welcomed and greeted by our representative at Tribhuvan International Airport and transferred to your respective hotel for rest and refreshment. You can enjoy delicious Nepali Cuisine and classical Nepali music.

Day 2
Fly to Lhasa and rest day.

We will fly above Everest and many other snow covered mountains witnessing the breathtaking aerial view. Upon reaching in Lhasa you will be transferred to hotel for rest and relaxation. We will mark this day for acclimatization to prevent altitude sickness but you can stroll around and enjoy the scenic views.

Day 3
Sightseeing in Lhasa - first day

Early in the morning we set off to visit Sera monastery, a whitewashed, golden-colored roofs historic monastery. After Lunch we will visit Norbulingka palace and Jokhang Temple. Norbulingka palace is beautiful summer palace for Dalai Lama. Jokhang temple is surrounded by Bakhar street. You will get to witness the most sacred temple in Lhasa and ramble around Bakhar street. You can taste local products like sweet tea and engage yourself in the bargain with local vendors.

Day 4
Sightseeing in Lhasa - second day

We start our day with the visit of the Potala palace. Potala palace hours the quarter for dalai lama private living and many other chapels. After lunch we will head towards Drepung monastery which is believed to have sheltered thousands of monks during the 14th and 15th century but now the numbers are declining. But, you can imagine how popular was Lhasa and Tibet for Buddhism in those eras. You will unravel the mysteries of Buddhism and spiritual significance while observing these monasteries

 

Day 5
Lhasa to Shigatse (3900m): 7 hours

We follow Tsangpo River, crossing Khamp la pass (15,700 ft.). On the way we see Yamdrok lake and distance view of Ningdzingzanke peak. We head towards Gyangtse and visit a famous Pelkor monastery which houses nice floor Gyangtse Khumbun, largest of the three Khumbuns in Tibet. We then head towards Shigatse for overnight stay.

Day 6
Shigatse to Xegar (4200 m): 6 hours

After Breakfast we visit Panchen Lama’s Tashihumpa monastery. We cross Gyatchu la pass (5200 m) before arriving Xegar.

Day 7
Xegar to Rongbuk (4980 m) to Everest Base Camp: 9-10 hours

We set off early, since we have to make a long distance travel and arrive at our tour attraction point - Everest Base Camp (5250 m). On the way we observe the mesmerizing view of Mt Cho Oyu (8201 m), Shishapangma (8013 m) and Mt Everest (8848 m). We will make a round trip around base camp to observe the mighty Everest form different spots and angle. Mt Everest is called Chomolongma in Tibetean Side. We will thus reach our destination. We will take time capturing the stunning views of Everest and head back towards Xegar for overnight stay.

Day 8
Xegar to Kerung: (3700 m) 5-6 hours

We head towards Nepal crossing Lulang la pass (5050 m). We can expect to see the glorious panoramic view of Himalayas from this pass and, of course, Mt. Cho Oyu, Mt. Everest and Mt. Xishapagma at their best view.

Day 9
Kerung to Kathmandu 11-12 hours

After completing the formalities required in Nepal Tibet border we head towards Kathmandu Through scenic hills and villages on our way. After your arrival in Thamel you will be transferred to the respective hotel for rest and refreshment. You can enjoy your evening strolling in Thamel Street and visit some restaurants to taste mouth-watering delicious Nepali cuisine.
